Over the years, as my husband and I have grown in our faith, there are times we are absolutely amazed at God's provisions in our lives. Just when we need something, God provides by way of a bonus, a raise, free-cycle, friends or family. It has happened so many times, that now when my husband receives a bonus or raise, we wonder what God might have planned next, because we know He's providing for something!
Our family has chosen to be debt free, home-school and leave our family planning in God's hands. Many in the outside world are awestruck that we live this way, and I think it surprises them that we really don't worry about things we don't have or things that might happen.
We were raised with the motto, " If you don't have it, you don't need it, " and we've added to that, " If we do need it, God will provide it."
That's not to say that we don't do our part.
We do. God has provided a wonderful career for my husband, and has enabled me with administrative and organizational skills to be resourceful with what He gives us. However, yes, I do not worry about how our kids will attend college or how we will possibly afford another baby if I get pregnant again. I just know and have a peace that if God wants my children to go to college, scholarships, funds and work opportunities will be there, and yes, we already have 5 children. However if I found out I was pregnant tomorrow, I'd be elated!
God is good. He provides for all that we need and yes, there's always room for one more.
In my social circles, many women, including myself, who have left their family planning in God's hands, find it frustrating when people joke with us and say, " You know how that happens, right?, " or " Are you done yet? Will you have more?"
It completely amazes me that people ask Michelle Duggar that every time she announces another blessing. Come on people, when are you going to realize?
We've left it in God's hands. It's not our choice, it's His.
God knows better than us. He loves us. He provides for us. He knows everything. Why wouldn't we leave that decision in His hands?
God never makes a mistake. However, we do, and I personally don't want to make the mistake of telling God, " No, I don't want another child."
In my heart and soul I know if God has another child planned for our family, then He will provide all that we need for that child.
God gives life. God takes life and for me personally, those decisions are God's alone.
Let me encourage you that if you believe as I do, please be patient with those who don't understand, and if you are one of those who do not understand, please don't ask us, " Are you done? Will you have more."
The answer is still the same. "Only God knows. God is good. He loves us. He provides for us and yes, there's always room for one more."
